The New Jersey Head Start Association is proud to celebrate a special community partnership that brought learning, literacy, and leadership together for Head Start children in Morris County.
Recently, students from the Head Start Community Program of Morris County (HSMC) visited Zufall Health for a memorable literacy event featuring Senator Anthony Bucco. During the visit, Senator Bucco spent time reading to Head Start students, engaging them in storytelling and encouraging a love of books and learning.

The event provided a meaningful opportunity for children and families to connect with community leaders while reinforcing the importance of early childhood education. As students listened attentively to stories, asked questions, and shared in the excitement of reading, they experienced firsthand the positive impact that community involvement can have on young learners.
“We are grateful to Zufall Health for hosting our students and creating such a welcoming environment,” said Juan Fernandez, Executive Director of the Head Start Community Program of Morris County. “Seeing Senator Bucco take the time to read to our children was truly meaningful and served as a powerful reminder of how important the support of our elected officials and legislative leaders is to the success of programs like Head Start.”

The event also highlighted the strong partnerships that help Head Start programs thrive. Through collaboration with organizations like Zufall Health and the support of community leaders, Head Start children receive enriching experiences that foster literacy, confidence, and lifelong learning.

The New Jersey Head Start Association extends its appreciation to Zufall Health for its continued commitment to serving families and supporting early childhood education. We also thank Senator Anthony Bucco for dedicating his time to inspire the next generation of readers and learners.
Together, we are helping build brighter futures, one story at a time.
